Garuda Indonesia and RBS Aviation Capital have confirmed operating lease arrangements for four Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft.
The first two aircraft have already been delivered - in July 2010 and January 2011 respectively - and the second two are scheduled to be delivered in May and July of 2013.
Commenting on the transactions, Garuda Indonesia’s President and CEO Emirsyah Satar said, “This agreement is part of Garuda’s ongoing fleet revitalization which, during 2011, will see the delivery of 11 new aircraft from Airbus and Boeing. By 2015 we will have a total fleet of 153 aircraft, including Airbus A330-series, Boeing 737-800NGs, and Boeing 777-300 Extended Range aircraft. This deal also shows the confidence that leading international institutions are showing in the operational and financial turnaround of Garuda Indonesia.”
RBS Aviation Capital’s CEO Peter Barrett added, “We are delighted to be supplying Garuda Indonesia with four brand new aircraft from RBS Aviation Capital’s direct order stream. These are our first transactions in Indonesia, and we are excited by the prospects that we see both for Garuda and the wider region.
